Chinese Aid Project On 7 April 2013 China reopened the Confucius Institute at Kabul University after it had been closed for 18 months due to instability in Afghanistan. The institute now offers Mandarin classes to around 100 Afghan beginners. There are one teacher from China and two Chinese instructors teaching mandarin at elementary levels.
